Army Institute of Law - Legal Aid Cell

The Legal Aid Cell was established at the Army Institute of law and is committed to provide free Legal aid and advice to anyone seeking help. This is in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority [DSLA]. The endeavour of the Legal Aid cell is to spread Legal awareness and provide guidance to the people. Some noteworthy activities are as follows: 1. On 7th of May 2019 a Legal Aid Camp was organised specifically for the elderly people of the region. They were made aware of their Rights and their queries were answered by members of the Legal fraternity. 2. On 5th of September 2019, a Legal Aid session was conducted by Dr. Mandeep Mittal,Additional District and Sessions Judge and Additional Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority. Dr. Mittal apprised the students about Free Legal Aid and various NALSA Schemes. A short movie “Razinaama” was also screened during the event to make the students aware about the functioning of ADR Centres across the state. 3. Mr. Rahul, a volunteer from the District Legal Services Authority comes to the Institute twice a week on fixed days from 2.00 to 4.00 PM to answer queries and advice students and members of the general public seeking help.
